The clay extracted from the quarries near the river Po has always been used to make the typically red bricks of the Po Valley landscape. Obtained from their grinding after the demolition of old agricultural and residential buildings is a powder that is perfect for tennis courts. Terre Davis began making crushed brick courts in 1975 and rapidly grew to become a market leader, serving some 2,500 tennis clubs and sports facility builders. Major international tennis tournaments, including those of the Foro Italico in Rome, have been played on their clay courts.
